Free Advertising for Your Small Business!
Take back your power and don't give your money to people who hate you.
This is going to be a short letter. But, I hope, a meaty one. Here’s the main point right up front: I want to advertise your small business for free.
Here are my requirements:
Have a small business. (I don’t care if it’s so small, you ship handmade scrunchies from your garage. All you have to do is offer a good or service for money and have a way to contact you which I can share with my readers.)
Be my subscriber on Substack.
That’s it!
“But why?” you ask.
Here’s the reason. The last three newsletters, I’ve written a lot about the insanity, from Covid rules to transing the kids, foisted upon us over the last three years. Almost all of it wouldn’t have been possible without the melding of massive corporations, the bureaucracy class and the government. Without this, there could be no enforcement mechanism. Remember how I’ve talked about my imaginary society in 27? Where the government ends and medicine begins is ambiguous. So too, where medicine ends and the school system ends, who knows? That’s the future I write about. Sadly, we’re almost already there.
But there’s hope!
James Lindsey, in one of his bullet point podcasts stresses the vital importance of removing yourself as a cog from the “Marxist” machinery. (Please, click on this link and listen to it. It’ll probably be the most hopeful and inspiring thing you’ll read all day.) Refuse to play the game. Since this machinery is so cumbersome and so badly designed (because, let’s face it, Marxist systems aren’t run by competent people) it will eventually collapse under its own weight. This is how people like me foiled the civil rights-violating “health passport” idea. You remove yourself as a gear in their system to buy yourself time until the collapse of the bad idea while preventing the least amount of damage to the people around you. This attacks their resources—you and your money.
When you think in these terms, the possibilities are endless. There are so many ways to remove oneself from the machinery, it makes me quite giddy with delight to ponder it.
One such way is to give your money to small, non-woke businesses. And as far as I am concerned, the smaller the better. Now I know, it’s hard to be a purist about this. Sometimes, you have to run your business off a platform owned by leftists—such as Etsy or Poshmark or Ebay. But that’s okay. You’re still helping some individual buck a corporate job with all of its punishing group think and vaccine mandates and speech policing and “anti-racism” struggle sessions. At least, by selling a handmade item on Etsy, you don’t have to watch how you speak at the workplace for fear of getting fired..because your workplace is home.
In other words, no matter how small the act of defiance, go ahead and make it. We’ll all be better off for your refusal to participate in these stupid games.
Best of all, you’ll never be faced with the horrifying task of selling “tuck friendly” kids swimwear to horrible parents who’ve convinced little Timmy he’ll be happier as little Susie. Always a perk…
And that’s why I want to advertise your small business from my platform for free.
Once a month, I would like to send out a newsletter featuring a few small businesses. Here’s how you can get your small business featured in my newsletter:
Subscribe. That’s the first step. Yes, you’ll be given the option to pick a financial support plan for me. Just decline it. Though, I won’t be sad if you decide to support my work financially, you certainly don’t have to in order to receive my weekly newsletter or get your small business featured.
Then, email me at mandaviolin@hotmail.com with “My small business” in the subject line. Tell me all relevant details about the goods or services you offer. (Yes, a self-published novel or book or an online course you have created, even raising puppies counts!) Make sure to include contact info like phone number, email address, website, shop name on Etsy, closet name on Poshmark etc…
Then just share some fun, relevant details about what got you started in this business, how far you’ve gone, and where you hope to go with it. And that’s it. I’ll be writing up people’s businesses in the order I receive them via email.
And share this post! Share it with anyone you know who’s trying to make a go of their small business. All they have to do is subscribe and send me their business info as I laid out above. So get at it!
This is how we throw sand in the gears of the bad guy. It’s small, just like grains of sand, but extraordinarily effective.
That’s all for now. Until next time, folks…
